Submitting Claims to One Alberta Blue Cross Plan

When a patient qualifies for coverage under multiple Alberta Blue Cross plans, Alberta Blue Cross co-ordinates benefits internally when a claim is submitted. This means, you only need to submit claims to one Alberta Blue Cross plan for the patient. If you attempt to bill multiple Alberta Blue Cross plans for the same prescription, the claim will be rejected by the non-primary plans.
To avoid sending to multiple Alberta Blue Cross plans, ensure all but one Alberta Blue Cross plan is inactive in the Patient Folder Third Party tab.
